Update

Hey all! I visited with Sis. King and Misty today. Sis. King still needs your prayers: she is still nauseated, and weak, but holding her own. Hopefully, if things improve, she can be home early this week. Misty is great, still beautiful, and still slim(bummer!).

Sister King

Hi: Just got home from being with Sister King. Spent the night with her. She is doing well. Still on clear fluids but up and moving and no catheter. Each time she is up she is better. She is dealing with lots of nausea but that is improving little by little. Her blood is low, so she is tired and weak. She prefers not to have visitors or flowers. If you wish to do something for her she said she would love cards that she could read when she was feeling better.

She covets your prayers.

Update from my Mom

Well this is Monday Morning May 22, 2006. Johnnie's blood level went to 6.10 yesterday. He received two units of blood. I don't know what it is now. They don't know just what is happening. His back hurts. He is sick at his stomach. He is slow healing but the Lord has been with him through this long process. The Doctor said they might operate Friday and reconnect so liver might empty into the intestine. It sounds like the part of the gallbladder that they had to leave in because of complications of the surgery is going to have to be by passed so the liver can pass into the intestine. I didn't talk to the Doctor but that was what Johnnie was saying. That makes sense to me. God is still in control. God is not worried. But it is hard to see our love ones suffer. But they manage his pain real well. The Lord is still giving me super natural strength during this time. And more peace than I could have on my own. Hope the best with all of you.
Love Freda

Tennis this Saturday

Hey girls,

All ladies are invited!! See the poster in the ladies washroom at the church.

I've planned a tennis game this Saturday, May 20 from11:00-1:00. Everyone can meet at my house at 11:00, and we can walk to the tennis courts, which is on the same block just around the corner.

If anyone would like to come, just bring your runners and some water. If you don't have tennis rackets, it's ok... I have 7 rackets, and I will run to WalMart to grab some tennis balls.

$2.00 per person will be requested as a fundraiser.

My address is 47 Macewan Park Place NW, and if you need directions call me on my cell 606-9806. Or go to www.mapquest.ca and click on directions.

Bring your other lady friends!!!

We actually B losing !

It's actually working! Yeehaw! We are losing! Debi lost 5 this week and I lost the telephone book I gained back! She makes me eat before I exercise! She tells me this is to give my body fuel and not let it think it is starving and go into no loss mode. Yes, I have sweat every time that I exercised. Yuck! It helps to have someone doing it with you. Mel is even working on it.

I am following the GI concepts (brown rice, sweet potatoes) with the Weight Watcher's portion control. I even ate Rice Krispy squares and counted them. We are not buying anymore of them though cause they were replacing carrots etc for Debi. We also went to the Dairy Queen and had a dilly bar which replaced the blizzard Debi was drooling over. That was totally satisfying and felt good afterward with no guilt. I have not had any sugar free stuff (which has really high fat and affects my bowels badly).

Looking forward to less of me.

ICU

My Dad is back in ICU. They had moved him into another unit but he started losing blood again. They are saying he had a false aneurysm in the liver. They were trying to do laser surgery on it last night. I don't understand it all but suffice it to say he is a sick man. Mom is holding up well. I am in Missouri with my Ladies Retreat and my sister Connie is there. He was fine when I left or so we thought. They want me to stay here unless he takes a turn for the worst. They insist that I enjoy my Retreat. I am so glad my sister is able to stay with my Mom.

Muscle weighs more???

Well I have to say that this power walking is doing wonders for my energy levels. I feel so much better and although I haven't seen a weight loss from it yet, I am wondering if it's true that muscle weighs more than fat, and that's what I'm getting. If it is it's about time! As for the tennis and volleyball, I say...bring it on! Hope you are feeling better Jess!

Be lookin for tennis rackets

Hey Ladies,

I've already been checking around at garage sales for tennis rackets... found 2 already! So if you are at a garage sale.. don't pass by the tennis rackets.. pick them up for cheap! As long as they are in good condition.

As soon as the weather gets nice, I'm gonna plan a few games of tennis... there's a city tennis court right by my house.. 2 courts, just for the ladies!!!

OMGG

That means Oh! My Goodness Gracious!

Groan, moan, whine. I feel the tight muscles of exercising ( I know they are tight cause they hurt) and the smugness of making it through day 1. Not without near mishaps though. We have to put everything to use that we have learned. Don't go very long without eating is one of them. We went to the exercise place. (Yup, there were a few beads of sweat so she was happy) Lunch was hours away. Then went to look for the place of one of her interviews and then to the dollar store. By that time I could have eaten the cardboard out of my pantyhose package. Then we went home. I was due at band very soon and could have just grabbed rice krispy squares or cookies. But... I popped corn (light) and ate a sandwich and counted all my points. I probably should have eaten more points earlier in the day, but I knew that my rough time is from about 3 till bedtime and I needed to have some space for that time.

Yippee. One down and a million to go. But every journey begins with one step. Tks CR. Sometimes we restart, as long as we don't stop.

Onward and downward

It's Monday

It is Monday, the day that we all start our diets. Yes? Yes! The day we restart our diets. Yes? Yes! This is another ofmy Mondays. My sister Debi is here looking for work and together we are going to do Weight Watchers without the meetings. It is definitely what is needed in my life. The portion control. I have not been able to manage it on my own and I think that she is the kick to the rear that I need. All three of us (my sisters and I) are bossy cows and she is showing it in my diet area. She also thinks that I have to sweat at the exercise place. Oh, no! Arrrrggghhhh ! I expect to lose 50 lbs by next weekend! (Not!)

I am scared and excited and all I can think of is sweating!!!! Arrrrrrgggghhhh !

Scared that I won't be able to do it!

Excited that I will be able to do it!

And S-W-E-A-T-I-N-G Arrrrrggggghhhhhh ! (It's not even a four letter word!)

So if you have been on again, off again or just need to re-commit (sp?) Feel free to join me. And Helen and Nita. And Carla.

Looking forward to less of me.

Post Surgery

I talked with Mom and the ICU nurse around 10:45 tonight. Dad came through the surgery. It was a very long one. when she called around 3:30 today they were taking him in.

They removed part of his colon that had some type of lesion on it. Will know more tomorrow hopefully. Also they removed part of this gall bladder that had erosion she said.

He is on a ventilator and heavily sedated tonight to help him recover from the ordeal.

Leaving

I am leaving to Texas tomorrow for my Mom and Dad.

Dad is in surgery right now and the Doctor told Mom if it was him he would call his kids in.

Connie, my sister, and her girl, Crystal will be there at 8 tomorrow morning. I will get there at 2:30 pm.

Keep us in your prayers. Love all of you

My parents

My parents need prayer.

My Dad had a gall bladder attack and was taken to the hospital in their town. They then transferred him to Fort Worth (about 3o minutes away) His blood count was low and they gave him blood in the ambulance on the way.

The attack is over but he is losing blood through the stool and they can't figure out why yet. He is still in the hospital. He needs prayer.

My Mom also needs prayer. It is hard on her to keep travelling that distance and staying at the hospital with him. She is not well enough to do that for very long.

Keep them in your prayers please.
