Ain't it the truth!

"One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating." LucianoPavarotti

So true! Whether you are dieting or not we still have to eat. Whatever, whenever you eat make it enjoyable. Use the good china. Use a tablecloth. Use napkins and candles. Have conversation. Sit down and eat with loved ones or friends. Enjoy what you eat and who you eat it with!

Rethink Regroup

Well, it has been one week without sugar and mostly without white flour products. I feel confident that the worst is over. (knock on wood, my head) I only got to exercise once in the morning, though. So, I am going to try something different. I am going to try to exercise after school, before I go home. I figure by that time of the day I am brain dead anyway and exercise does not require much thinking. In fact exercise is my zone out time. I have this idea in my head that I SHOULD exercise in the morning and for me, exercise in the afternoon or evening is outside my box. You can teach an old dog new tricks, can't you?

I am upgrading my diet now, including more veggies and fruit. ( Salad with boiled egg and red peppers, as well as yogurt and oranges for lunch) Toast and cheese for breakfast. (We'll have to work on that, but at least I am eating breakfast)

I am still working on getting all the water in that I need.

A work in progress I must say.

Lots of good news by the looks of the entries. Great work all!

PHEW...1st week done!!!

Well.....we made it through the first week...phew!!! 51 one to go! LOL!

I will take it one week at a time!! 2007.......a year of loss!!! To this ole body that is! YEAH!

WE WILL REJOICE TOGETHER!!!!

I am working on a date for our meeting. Keep going!!!!

First week like most first weeks I have had a good loss. About 4 lbs. I know that will taper off now. I will be happy with 1 lb. per week and OVERJOYED with 2 lbs per week. 2-3 is the perfect amount to consistently loss per week. IT ADDS UP........... don't laugh at such a small sounding loss! Just the way it comes on..... it will go off........ 1 lb. at a time!!!!

I plan to do it with calorie reduction...reasonable reduction.....and at least 3 times per week 30 minutes of exercise. If I get more exercise in...that's great...but if not I'll still be doing more than I am doing now and it will show....... or should I say not show? Hmmm....

So Far So Good

I have made it 3 almost 4 full days so far with no sugar and only some noodles for white flour products. Only one day of exercise and today was supposed be another but sleep claimed me. I feel good about the sugar though and know that it is not an instant process for any part of this weight loss deal.
Day one was rough, the cravings were bad in the evening. I ate whole grain rye bread as toast with various stuff on it. I find the protein is very important in shutting down the cravings. I will probably not weigh until the end of the month, when I will have gotten rid of the sugar and have more veggies and stuff in my diet.

Hope you are all doing well!

What night??????????

Okay...I need to know which night works best.

Monday is Excel, Wed is church, Thursday is choir(do we have choir members?), Friday usually something going with youth.

Is a Tuesday the best night once a month?

Weight Management

I had to transfer over to the new Blogging, now I believe that it's working for me. I need to loose quite a few pounds also... I need to exercise because over the winter I've been sick and no exercise means I've gained weight. I'm thinking I'd like to start simply weight training. No building muscle to bulk up... just using the weight training to help burn fat, also cardio. I need motivation right now and accountability, so it would be nice if we could get together once a month to encourage each other and motivate one another.

New Version of Blogger

I switched to a new version of Blogger and I think I have to reinvite some of you to be posting members before you can post.

If you haven't posted this year can you try to post and let me know by e-mail if you can't post?

We are going to have a new member soon.....Shannon! She will be posting soon!

Creak! Groan! Moan!

Well, it is done. One day of exercise. Yikes. It is like back to square one. I am discovering those muscles I discovered a long time ago, again. I know that I want to succeed so I do not want to wreck it by going gung ho and not making it past day 1. I did the circuit and less than a kilometer on the bike. And yes, I did sweat.

You can tell that I am not used going. I forgot water and instead of tights I had black pantyhose on. On, not just in my bag. Siiiiggghhh. Things WILL get better. Hope you have a great day!

Don't forget that this blog says it was published an hour earlier than true life. I was not up at 4:50 and it is 7:34 now.

New Beginnings

I am ready to go! I have rough draft in my head for my weight loss plan.

I have found the GI (glycemic index) diet successful and plan to go back to that. My initial plan is simply to get off sugar and the refined white flour products. I am giving myself permission to eat whatever else I feel is necessary to accomplish this. No, don't think I am going wonky. I am talking vegetables, fruit, sweet potatoes, protein etc. I cannot do without carbs but I can do without sugar. It is a terrible red light food for me. I am thinking it will take about 2 weeks to get off the sugar and then I can start on portion control.

My exercise will start simply with the circuit at my exercise place and work up to the bike and then move onto the treadmill and a more aggressive plan once I am able to handle that.

Water, water and more water.

My goal is camp meeting to meet my 100 lbs. This means I will have to be aggressive and determined.

What have you committed yourself to and what is your plan. Let us know so we can help each other be accountable.

I need your help and hope I can help you.

Onward and downwards.
