I'm Home

Hullo to all! We arrived home from our trip last night. I did not gain or lose and so I am happy, although I would be happier to have lost. But..... when you don't walk the walk you cannot expect the results. It seems that they are not majorly into vegetables and fruits. I kinda got strange looks when I ate my vegetables off a restaurant meal first. But, that was not enough to cover the snickers bar, the chocolate cake, the barbequed sausage and the meals out.

We visited Nikki in the first part of our trip and she is doing reasonably well. They took her off all thyroid medication to find out if she has Graves disease. She has been having tests each month and will find out the results in mid August. She tires easily and all that comes with that. Her dose of prednisone is reduced and that caused the diabetes to recede. Her hair is falling out and very thin. She is on heavy duty drugs to try and control the Lupus. She still needs our prayers.

Mer, I found that if I cooked and no one was coming home then they used it for lunches the next day or I had it for a few days for myself. Your cooking will not be wasted.

Thank you!!!

Hey ladies, thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts! God is so good, and has done everything I asked and more. I received sole guardianship yesterday, and as I am also going through a divorce right now, it was a huge plus in the process to receive it. Thanks for being my friends and God bless you all!!!

Checkup

I had my 6 week check up at 7 1/2 weeks today! The doctor signed me off! All is well! Thank God!

I won't be able to do the weight resistant exercises right now but I can walk! I have taken several walks and am looking forward to more. I am going farther each time.

While the weather is nice we need to take advantage of the fresh air and get some much needed exercise before the winter!

Back on the wagon

Ok, here we go again...this weight loss thing is a constant battle and as long as we don't just flat give up and pack the pounds on I feel we are still winning. I started again, and since Friday have dropped 5.5 pounds. Let's keep this going this time...

Shannon Brown

Hey, I know she is reading this, so I wanted to just say a few wrods for her! I have known Shannon since before I was born(is that possible?)she and my mom were school friends, and growing up, she was Aunty Shannon. Amazing, sympathetic, loving, and I have to say she was better family to me than my biological Aunts, who were never around. I love you so much "Aunt" Shannon, and I am praying for you constantly! God is in the miracle business, and can be your miracle!

Answer to prayers

Thank you everyone for your prayers...they have been answered!!! Things have turned out so much better than I ever imagined, or even prayed for, and God is just...amazing! I still have a few legal things ahead of me in the next few months, but everything has literally fallen into place and I know God is working! Thank you all again for your prayers and encouragement.

Exercise Tips and Thoughts

These were sent to me by Brenda Booker.....

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where she is.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.

I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.

If you are going to try cross country skiing, start with a small country.
