The Three C's of a Healthy Lifestyle
COMMITMENT – Come up with some way that will inspire you to stay focused to your plan for better health. Whether you write up a contract and sign it (with someone witnessing it), or write it in your daily plans. Making it more public will help you stay more focused on your goal.
CONSISTENCY – You have to keep fitness and healthier eating habits in your daily plan. By either writing it in your planner, keeping a calendar (with stickers – my thing), or writing everything down in a diary. You’re not going to be perfect all the time. If something comes up and you can’t fit the whole exercise routine in (but don't make poor excuses!), at least try to fit 10-15 minutes in so you won’t feel like a total failure.
CONVENIENCE – We have to be honest with ourselves with what fits into our lives or schedules. Maybe you don’t like going to a gym and exercising in front of others. I don’t either. There are exercise videos that can help in that area. Do your fitness exercises outside when the weather permits. Take your exercise shoes and put them in the car. You can always do exercises during your lunch hour, or whenever time permits. If you live near a mall, go walk there if the weather outside isn’t permitting. Just don’t stop to check out all the specials in the stores! There are really no good excuses for not taking the time out for yourself to keep fit. If you’ll just do the best that you can - getting started, taking a little bit of time each day, day after day, you’ll find yourself with a new healthy habit.
