Holding my own
Nothing has changed weight wise. Guess it is definitely time to cut out the sugar. I got the following article in my email this morning and thought that some of it might be useful to somebody. Read and enjoy.
To keep my (see credits below) weight under control and still enjoy my date nights I have found some tricks that might be helpful to you as well.
First, pay attention to how your clothes fit! Try on jeans every once in awhile, they don't lie. If they get too tight, time to make changes.
Second, communicate what your plan is. I tell my family that I am not overdoing carbs, which means less bagels, pasta or potatoes.
Third, make time to exercise! Add walking, biking, the gym, etc. Date night is fun if you can dance, good exercise and fun.
Fourth, focus on an upcoming event. Make it an event that you are looking forward to attending and pick something to wear... then put it where you can see it.
Fifth, don't eat late at night. Do your best to eat your main meal by 7 or 8 p.m. at the latest.
Sixth, know your downfalls! If beer makes you gain weight, drink light beer and alternate with water, or you can find an alternative. Dry wine takes longer to consume because you sip it and people don't seem to gain weight from it. (we could translate iced tea, regular pop etc instead of beer and wine)
The Big One: Don't feel full! Eat only enough to take away hunger, not to being full. Think of it as getting two meals for the price of one, eat half of what is served to you and take the other half home for lunch the next day.
I have been doing this for years, it requires some willpower at first, but will quickly become a habit.
Good habits will generate good results. Good luck!

Sherri,
I have been off the blog for so long. Didn't see all your great post!
Keep going!
Love ya!
Hmmph... don't feel very successful at this moment. I have had an incredibly rough couple of weeks and it shows in my eating. School is out so I hope to rest, relax, revitalize, rejuvenate and restore. That's a lot to expect out of two weeks but I'll give it my best. Also to reinstate good eating habits.
