vcYup.. I've tried them before. It does give you energy.. but you have to be careful because some people react the wrong way. Also you crash and burn afterwards. It's worth a try though.. if you don't excercise right away your heart starts beating wayy to fast.
I actually just read something on cbsnews.com about energy drinks and the lady on there who is a registered dietician and a contributor to health magazine was talking about all the reasons you should stay AWAY from these drinks.
Here are just a few:
Interferes With Medication
Raises Blood Pressure
Causes A Racing Heart Beat
Dizziness
A Blunted Physiological Response
She says people exercising should especially stay away from these drinks because you might not be aware that you are fatigued, that you are experiencing pain, that you are dehydrated, so you are more prone to injuries. She also says, which is very true by reading the label on the back, that you are only supposed to be drinking 4oz, NOT the whole thing and people are doing so anyways. What she does recommend is drinking sports drinks, like Gatorade IF you are doing 60-90 minute cardiovascualr exercises. Kids are allowed to have these drinks also, if again, they are doing 60-90 minute cardio exercises..i.e, running around a whole lot outside in the heat. These drinks are formulated to replenish fluids and electrolytes.
(Electrolytes help your body communicate efficiently.)
